Leaving Heavy, Coming Back Lite

October 27, 2014

Hello family,

This email is coming late, as we had to run a few errands right in the middle of our emailing time. Now we get to finish it up real quick, before we need to be in for the night. The weather continues to bring chilly air, that seems to cut through our layers of shirts, sweaters, and jackets. It should warm up a bit, which will be a needed break, since we are on the street most of the day.

At our District Meeting last week, we challenged the whole district (3 companionships) that we could talk to more people than the rest of them combined. If we were to lose, we would buy them all milkshakes from the famous Calgary's favorite "Peter's". But, if we win, they take us out to a Canadian classic restaurant "Boston Pizza". It was off to the races starting on Tuesday, we loaded up our backpacks with many copies of the Book of Mormon, and headed to downtown. We were able to talk to 637 people within 3 days, for about 2-3 hours each day. We passed out 62 BOMs. This was not an easy feat, we had plenty of rejection along the way. But what made it all worth it was when we left where we parked, our backpacks wanted to rip off our shoulders, but on the way back, the bags were nonexistent. It was a testimony builder for me, when you do what is right the best you can, He will always provide a way for you to accomplish your goal. Sounds like some scripture I know??? (This is where you scream "1 Nephi 3:7!)

The teaching pool has been increasing with gators to teach, but they are not going in the direction we are wanting them too. For the most part, our new gators have been willing for us to teach them, but do not have their priorities in line, or their their number one desire is not to grow closer to Jesus Christ. This forces us to make the ultimate decision, whether to move on from them or not. Your prayers for our gators are much needed!

Time keeps coming faster and faster. I am doing great, loving my companion, area, and time as a missionary. I will pray for you at home, as this moving chaos will be beginning soon. I love you all, have a great week.
