Change is Good...Right?

August 12, 2013

Hello Family!
We had another great week in the Dirty East. E. Wilkes and I really tried to get as many appointments as possible this last week. Let me tell you, when you try your best to teach, the Lord provides a way. We taught 24 lessons this week! We are also finding people left and right. We have made it a goal to talk with EVERYONE. This has really worked. We get some pretty fun experiences out of it as well. I hope to keep improving.
The Stake made some ward changes this week. This was pretty scary to find out who we are going to be losing. We had the meeting last night and we found out that we are losing Fonda. That is where all of our success is coming from. Fonda is the hood! The ward I am serving in currently is basically being cut in half. I was a little frustrated but then I realized that this is a great growing opportunity for us. We have to go out of our way to find new gators. It will be a really challenging week but I am excited to see what will happen! We are also going to be covering a new branch. The Lynnwood Branch. I have never had the pleasure of being in a branch, let alone cover one. It will be a whole new experience!
One of the reasons this week has been so good is because we committed two people for baptism! I am so excited and these dates are solid. We have a baptism this Saturday for Frank. Yes, he is back in Canada, ready to be dunked. I wanted to go over to his house to see if the people living there knew when Frank was coming back. To our surprise, Frank answered the door! I was shocked, didn't know what to say, but was extremely happy. Margii has also committed to baptism on September 7th! She wanted to feel what the Holy Ghost was so we asked her to pray right at that moment and to ask specifically for the Holy Ghost. After the prayer she said, "I feel something warm in my heart. What is that?" BOOM! Great experience. Words cannot describe how excited I am for Margii and Frank. So cool!
We are also going to try an experiment this next week. We are going to be 100% obedient, focus on the work, and not waste any time. We are going to be shooting for 30 lessons this week. We feel like Heavenly Father will bless us for our efforts and help us achieve that 30 lesson mark. It is going to be very difficult, especially with the ward changes. But with His help, you can do anything. Our DL actually came up with the idea, his name is Elder Engstrom. He is an amazing missionary. He has only been out 5 months. I was supposed to go out with him. He is what I think of when I think what a good missionary is. Plus, we are way good friends. Please pray for us to get the opportunities we need to reach this goal. We would really appreciate it. :)
I hope everyone has a good day/week. I got the family reunion letters from everyone. I love them all! It might take me awhile to respond to everyone, but I'll try my best. I really loved the letters, thank you so much! I'd never think that a small piece of paper would make me so happy. I am loving my time in Canada, serving the Lord for 20 more months. Hurrah! ;)
Love,
Elder Browning.2
