Give Said the Little Stream

May 19, 2014

Hello family,

It has been a good week in the Hat. We are really working hard, but a lot of it has been service this week. Be careful for what you ask for, because I was just saying to myself, "I want more service." Then we got plenty of it. It has been a great opportunity to build that trust and get a tan at the same time.

One of the service projects that we had this week was to paint a 750-board fence. We did it as a zone activity, it took us most of the day. We started at 9 am and went until 3 pm that afternoon. I was very grateful for all of those long summer Saturdays working out in the yard with the Dad. I'd never thought that by doing that would benefit me in the mish, but it has. So I guess the props goes to Dad and his famous, or infamous, saying: "It's good for you."

As far as teaching goes, we had a miracle happen to us on Friday night. So, a little back story so you can understand how awesome this is. Elder Ballard has said if you talk to at least 10 people a day, outside of tracting, teaching, or street contacting, you will see more baptisms. We wanted to take this Apostolic promise to the test. We have been trying to talk to more people, everywhere we go. Because of this, we have gotten blessings of finding prepared people. On Friday, we went to go teach a recent convert, named Rylan. Way sweet kid. Anyway, while we were there at his house, his Mum, who is not a member had a friend there, who we began a gospel conversation with, we are pretty good with starting those out of nothing. ;) He began telling us that he wants to find something that he can hold on too. The reason he has been thinking about religion so much, is because of how it has changed Rylan. His example has really touched him. It is always great to hear someone explain that he wants to know Jesus more, as he put it. Because we have been trying to find on our own efforts, we have been blessed with member referrals. Obedience will always bring blessings.

It is a pleasure to be able to serve with service, or in teaching. No matter which way we serve, we are always in the "service of God". I guess the nice weather is giving us more opportunities to be able to be in the service of others. We are excited to be able to start another week full of opportunities to give. I love you all!

Love,
Elder Browning
